Event and Exhibition Planning - 1st Year University Module

In my first year of studying Media and Communications at Birmingham City University, one of my production modules was Event and Exhibition Planning. My first assignment was a critical report on an event I had attended, with the second assignment being an event proposal and plan for an event created between myself and another student. Our event plan was for a chosen client and set brief and included: venue information, act/bookings information, the programme of the event, our marketing strategy, how we would evaluate our event, our budget, risk assessment and a gantt chart of the planning process. Accompanying this event plan, I individually produced a critical reflection on the process of delivering the event proposal, assessing both my work and my skills. I have attached the PDF version of the event proposal and the critical reflection I created in response to the event plan (please click on the buttons to view). These pieces of work together were graded a 1st.
Macmillan Cancer Support Family Fundraiser

During my final year of A-Levels, in my own time I organised all stages of a Charity Fundraising event, in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. The event was in memory of a family friend, and included live bands, a raffle, kids games, disco DJ and little touches throughout the day making it personal for the family of the person it was dedicated to, but still enjoyable for unrelated attendees (including a game of bingo). The event reached its aims of being a respectful memorial occasion, raising awareness and funds for Macmillan, the chosen cause, as well as create a memorable, enjoyable experience for all attendees The total amount raised was £900. I am very proud of this event and what it achieved, the work I put into it, and what it helped me learn about myself, my passion for events, and my future aspirations.
